As we all do, before I go to sleep, I pray to God. To thank him for the greatest gift, Jesus Christ. To thank him for my family, for my blessings, for my friends.
But I still start with the first prayer I really learned.
"As I lay me down to sleep, I pray thee Lord, my soul to keep.
Let thy love guide me through the night, and wake me with the morning light."

I follow it with the Lord's prayer.
That's when I begin to truly thank God for everything. Lessons, setbacks, blessings. Giving my problems over to him. Knowing he has a plan for me and for my soul.
I ask him to forgive me, as I am an imperfect person and I slip up sometimes.
Then, I ask him for specific blessings, should it be his will.

I spent almost 30 years of my life not praying. I wasted them giving into sin, allowing my heart and soul to be used by evil. I pray throughout the day.

I am so thankful to our Father, God Almighty for everything.
