I thought that today would be a great day to think about the Virtues which help us to lead Christian lives...
Theological Virtues
These are infused by God into the soul and direct us toward Him:
Faith: Belief in God and all that He has revealed.
Hope: Trust in God's promises and the desire for eternal life.
Charity (Love): Love of God above all things and love of neighbor as oneself for the love of God.
Cardinal Virtues
These are moral virtues that guide ethical behavior and decision-making:
Prudence: Right judgment and wisdom in making decisions.
Justice: Giving others their due, including fairness and respect.
Fortitude: Courage to face difficulties and persevere in doing good.
Temperance: Self-control and moderation in all things.
Other Important Virtues
The Church also recognizes additional virtues often tied to the cardinal and theological virtues:
Humility: Recognizing our dependence on God and valuing others appropriately.
Patience: Enduring trials with trust in God’s plan.
Obedience: Willingness to follow God's will and the Church's teachings.
Gratitude: Acknowledging and appreciating God's gifts.
Chastity: Proper use of sexuality according to one's state in life.
These virtues work together to lead Catholics to holiness and help them live a Christ-centered life.
God bless.
