We all want to persevere in prayer because it connects us with God and makes us interact with heaven. But we need discipline, until it is a delight in us.

What is Prayer?
It is interaction, more than requests it is being positioned in Christ Jesus. (Hebrews 13:25 May grace be with you all). Prayer is not an event, it is a form of Christian life; Prayer is not meditation or passive reflection; It is to address God directly. Christian Prayer is directed to the triune God. We pray to the Father, through the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The wicked have no desire to pray (Psalms 10:4), But the children of God have a natural desire to pray.
