Fighting False Spiritual Leaders
There have always been and will always be false spiritual leaders in the world who claim to represent God but do not. The Old Testament warns about them and advises people to avoid them. The New Testament does the same. Moses faced these leaders in Egypt, Jeremiah opposed them in Judah, and Ezekiel called them foolish prophets who followed their own ideas and had no real vision.
Our Lord cautioned us about false Christs and prophets who would perform great signs and wonders. The apostle Paul fought against them as preachers of a different gospel in Galatians 1, and he referred to them as spreaders of demonic teachings in his letter to Timothy. Peter described them as false teachers who secretly introduce harmful beliefs, comparing them to dogs that return to their own vomit. John, the apostle, warned of a coming antichrist and noted that many antichrists were already denying Jesus as the true Christ.
