Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
It would appear that winter has reared its ugly head from its short nap. Today looks to be quite chilly and windy. I do believe this is a stay inside and write kind of day. Of course there will be a side order of laundry and cleaning, but the adventure for today will be to complete one story and at least get a rough draft of another. Each for competitions.
With my husband on the mend, I will be returning to work on Monday. This past couple of weeks have shown me some areas in my life that I need to work on. Some areas that have always been there, but I refused to look at. Some areas that are a bit off but not terrible, however, other areas that have me wondering what I really look like to the world. That is a lot of some areas, but if we are going to truly grow, we need to accept that we have a lot of some areas for improvement. One of those areas is my sight and recognition for needing to improve.
I have a couple of choices here. I can choose to listen to the enemy and stay where I am conquered in my faults and know that I will never be good enough. Which is true. I will never be good enough on my own, however, there is a second option. I can choose to remember that I am a child of God and though I am not good enough on my own, I made the choice to follow Him, and his blood made me good enough.
The first week that I was off with my husband I did not sleep well and my emotions were all over the place. Lots of changes inside me and no real cause that I can think of. But my mood was definitely not my normal normal. It was my stressed normal. I spent several days on my couch watching television and tending to my husband. Nothing else. I did not want to do anything else. And if I am being honest, one of those days I was annoyed that I was taking care of him. I seriously only wanted to sit, and binge watch television. There are a number of plausible answers to the why, but none of which really matter now because it is over with, and the Answer came to sit with me.
In that first week, is when the areas became very real to me. I had to have that week to see that I am broken, but He is the glue.
Anyone who walks with our Lord goes through these times. Anyone who has a solid relationship will find the dark patch. It is part of the process of being refined. You don’t see it coming, it just hits. It is hard, at least for me it was, because you set in your mind that nothing can get to you, but the reality is, it is usually something small and insignificant that starts the trigger. I am not sure what mine was, but it worked. So as I said before, I have a choice to make. Be conquered or be the conqueror. I choose the latter.
Be blessed today my friends.
***7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. – 2 Corinthians 4:7-9
