Good Morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Today is my first day back in two weeks. I made sure that I went to bed at a first grader’s bedtime so that I would be able to get up on time this morning. So, at 8 pm I was snuggled into my comfy spot. I actually woke up prior to my alarm. The first time I did not look at the time, I did not want to be awake yet. The second time I was curious and found that I was only 30 minutes early. This gave me plenty of time to stretch and pray. Both of which were much needed.
In the last two weeks, God has directed my steps in such a way that I really had no choice but to grow. He has placed before me a challenge of writing skills that actually kind of terrifies me. The contest is free, so it is not a financial thing. I get 2500 words, so it is not limited thing. The subject matter is Romance … but … it is reversed.
The contest is Subverted Romance trope. Subverted equals reversed. Trope equals what kind. (I had to look them up.) Essentially, the contest wants us to take the ‘normal’ romance thought and flip it around. For example, enemies to friends are now friends to enemies. Should be simple enough right? If I were going to write a Harlequin type story, probably no biggie. However, that is not the storyline He has given me.
As I finished this weekend’s challenge, my thoughts have been completely on this story line. I know that this is what He wants. I know that as long as He is running through my fingers, it will be awesome. I am asking that you pray for me to have the courage to write this story, timely, and submit it with all the necessary attachments. I would give you insight into the topic line, but that is one of the rules of the challenge, to keep them to ourselves until submitted. But know that the subject is very close to my heart.
Today will be a series of challenges as I get my feet wet again at work. But more so, my mind will be focused on this story and its message.
My prayer for you all today is that you see His presence everywhere you look. That you feel His love in all encounters. That His peace comforts you in all your challenges of the day.
Be blessed today my friends.
