Have you ever, as a follower of Christ, lived with a hidden sin? Maybe something that you were struggling with to stop? There was always a fear of being exposed?

Alert Transparent moment about to take place

I have in the past, even as a minister. There were times that it was exposed and then there were times that I decided it was a time for a Jesus come to meeting moment.

I can tell you, there is nothing as uncomfortable and embarrassing as a sin being exposed. Satan has a field day with it. You and his demons have a beat down party with self. He tells you, you’ll not recover from this, you will never be trusted again (especially in ministry).

Can I tell you all of that is a lie? When you repent and seek forgiveness from the Father as well as those that you were exposed to, there will be a time of healing. Yes, you will deal with the guilt and the shame, but only you, by wallowing in it can delay your healing and restoration.

Let me give you a little insight, that took me years (my choice) to get a hold of. There are things you may be unable to stop on your own. Bondage ain’t easy. If you could deliver yourself you wouldn’t need the Father.

I’ve had people want me to pray for their deliverance (there are times that the Father will do this), but I’ve had the Holy Spirit tell me to tell them no. He said I’m not going to take it away, you must give it to me (huge difference).

Now, comes the really difficult part. You know that it’s a sin, it displeases the Father, and you know that you can’t get delivered on your own. You feel so ashame, depressed and dejected. There are people that you can’t trust not to judge you, but will encourage you, pray with you and be an accountability partner for you. That’s great; right? Sometimes not so much. The enemy will lie to you with the guilt to convince you that you are to embarrassed to open up about it. Then you find yourself continuing to struggle with that sin, you are unable to be truly effective for the Father’s will for your life and your service for the Kingdom, and worst part is that you will not experience the fullness of freedom and fullness of the fruit of the Spirit.

You will never feel whole or complete.
It all starts with a desire to stop or change, then you must repent (turn away), and ask for forgiveness (from the Father and those you were exposed to). Then you must surrender whatever it is to the Father, and purpose in your heart to stop or change. Remember, part of the fruit of the Spirit is long suffering and self control.

Well preacher; what if I do all of that, and I still struggle with it?
You get before the Father and do it all again. Dont ever stop! Be honest with your accountability partner (or your pastor). You keep doing it until the chains break, and THEY WILL BREAK!
I am always available for anyone to share anything without the least bit of judgment. We are in this together.
