Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

I hear that we have another winter front coming in. That means that I am going to have to wear a long sleeve shirt under my sweatshirt. Oh the perils of living in the north. I am just hoping that this winter spurt does not last long enough for me to have to buy another pallet of pellets. I want to be a cheap scrooge, but if this cold front continues, I will definitely get another pallet, I like to be warm and the stove warms so much better than my gas furnace.

I have been debating with God if he was sure that he wanted me to draft this particular story for this competition. He has been really steadfast with his decision. However, I do act like a defiant teen a lot of the time, so naturally I have had to say, “but what about…” or “seriously…you want me to …” and the ever so popular once I agree to comply with his request, “ugh.” I took my computer to work and, during my lunch break, he gave me the entire story premise. It is still in rough draft form, but the premise for the story is there. A true visualization of reality in today’s world.

I have found that when I argue with Him, it is when I am entering into a less than comfortable zone. As with my first book, I was convinced that I had already done the basic version, and I was not interested in repeating myself. I didn’t want to sound like a used car salesman. With this story, it touches on part of our walk that most try to ignore or drown themselves in today’s societal version … salvation.

Wow. This random thought. Last night when I took my bath, I was just looking for some hot relaxing water to soothe my sore muscles and wash off the sweat. I really did not work that hard or get dirty-dirty, it was more of a relaxation bath. However, at the end of the bath, the water was extremely dark grey. The vision of what you would expect if you had been toiling in the fields or garden. I seriously sat on my bottom most of the day. Yet my water was very dark.

This puts into perspective the short story that I wrote. I mean I knew what He was after, but now it clearer to me. The way we see ourselves is not necessarily how we are. We may cloud ourselves with this ‘righteousness’ when in fact we need to wash our sins in repentance. Okay. I am awake now.

Jesus paid the ultimate price for us to live with him in heaven for eternity, but if we do not do our part, confess, and repent … it means nothing. He is a gentleman, he will not ‘force’ himself on anyone. We are all the right and option to choose. What will you choose today?

Be blessed today my friends.
