Where yesterday I invited you to make a list of distractions verses blessings, and I said that would do the same; guess who got distracted.
This morning is no different. I had very odd dreams last night about Elon Musk. That should be enough for either a nightmare or a hearty chuckle. No clue what they were about or why… but his face was there.
Yesterday morning my husband shut the pellet stove off so we could clean it, as of bedtime there were still hot coals in it so we could not vacuum it out. Consequently we have a cooler than normal house this morning. Gas heat is not even comparable to wood.
Deadline is near approaching on a contest of the story I have re-written three times now and I need to come to my final conclusion for the storyline.
Then there is always the electronics element of distractions. Video games on our phones. I am in a period of addiction to a game at the moment.
So let’s look at my blessings.
I have a comfortable bed in which I can have weird dreams. With just the right number of blankets to manage my security and warmth issues. The proper number of pillows needed to help me breath while I sleep and battle this cold that is creeping in.
Though the deadline is fast approaching, I have had some formidable beta readers who have given me some great feedback in areas that they struggled with in the original version of the story.
Electronics are here to stay. This game that I am hyper focused on now creates puzzle solving qualities and causes my brain to think outside of the box.
Distraction, when I read…my mind wanders. I either envision “who” it applies to (in my mind) or I tried to place the characters of The Chosen in these places for a better visual experience. Consequently … I lost the lesson in the Word.
Blessing, I have the freedom to freely display my belief and freely express my beliefs.
So, where this piece was not exactly what I was thinking about yesterday for lists, it does hold a solid truth … for every distraction, there is a shining Light … you just have to be willing to open your eyes.
