Formerly a Pastor’s daughter, I had fallen away from my childhood teachings and became a prodigal daughter. From age 10 years on and into my 20s I did not serve the Lord. I talked to him, but I did not serve him.

I had been living on the East Coast of Canada, and I came to Hamilton, Ontario to try to start a life with my children over again.

That was in 1984. In 1985. I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost . There was quite a prelude coming up to it as God was leading me back to him. I joined a small neighbourhood church. And God begin to deal with me from there.

I kept feeling a deep urging to share my testimony with young people, people that needed encouragement to leave behind a life of addiction, and on the streets. but I was terrified to step out in faith. I was also a very shy person. So I put a fleece before the Lord, and I told him that I would do it, but only if the pastor‘s wife of the new church that I was attending called me and specifically mentioned young people. She had not met me yet. I was too new. I went to bed, feeling pretty smug that the Lord would not answer that fleece because I figured it was all in my head.

The next morning, my phone rang. It was the pastor‘s wife as she said that she wanted to welcome me to the church and that they had a young people’s group that they would just love for me to join. I started to cry, and I told her what it happened and the fleece that I had laid before the Lord.

She immediately asked me to pray about being a speaker the following month for the National Assembly of Youth at their church.

End of episode one.
