Armed For Battle - Spiritual Warfare Outline Part 1

Opening:
• Saints, we are in the fight for our lives!
• We cannot be playing around in these last days.
• As we get closer and closer to the end days our spiritual fight is going to get harder and harder!
• We can’t be sitting back thinking we’re going to cruise through the end times until Yahwah’s return...We’re Not!!!
• We are engaged in a very REAL BATTLE with a very REAL ENEMY.
• Too many times saints we are content to sit back and fight a defensive battle against satan!
• We need to pick up our armor and go on the offensive!
• Do know what the 2 greatest weapons satan has?
◦ It’s a saint that does not pick and use the armor that Yahwah has provided for us.
◦ It is also a saint that doesn’t see that we are fighting a defeated enemy! Satan was defeated at the cross! (See Rom 8:37, Rom 8:31)
• That’s why we need to be “Armed For Battle”

Satan is real. Satan is powerful. Satan is wicked. And Satan is clever.
But most importantly, SATAN IS DEFEATED!”

(S-1) Knowing our Enemie(*S*)
• One of the first things we do is to know our enemy!
• When an army goes into battle they first study their enemy.
◦ They study the strengths and weaknesses.
◦ They look for vulnerabilities that they can exploit.
◦ They look for weaknesses in the enemies strategy that they can use against them.
• So let’s take a look at our enemie(*S*).
1. The devil
1. The apostle Peter calls him: our adversary the devil (1 Peter 5:8-9).
1. Some people say “he is as a roaring lion, but actually he’s a toothless pussycat”, to which I totally disagree! We badly underestimate the devil if we say that!
2. The apostle Paul calls him: the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2).
1. Paul also says satan can transform himself into angle of light (2 Cor 11:14). Just because he looks good, smells good, talks good, and walks good doesn’t mean he is good! (See 1 John 4:1)
3. Yahwah Messiah called him:
1. the Father of lies (John 8:44).
2. a thief (John 10:10)
3. prince of this world (John 14:30)
4. He is also described as subtil (Heb: cunning) in Gen 3:1
2. The world
1. 2 Cor 7:10
2. 1 Cor 2:12
3. James 1:27
4. James 4:4
5. Gal 4:3
6. Eph 2:12
7. Col 2:8
8. 1 Cor 14:10
9. 1 John 2:15-17 (3 catagories)
1. lust of the flesh (It wouldn’t hurt, just a little of…)
2. lust of the eye (It looks good, he/she looks good)
3. pride of life (I can handle it, I can control it)
10. Col 2:20
11. 1 John 4:4
1. Sometimes saints we can feel like the world is going to defeat us, but we need to stand upon the word of Yahwah!
2. Have everyone repeat scripture after me!
12. 1 John 5:4-5
3. The flesh
1. 2 Cor 10:3-5
2. Eph 2:3
3. Matt 26:41
4. Rom 13:14
5. 2 Cor 7:1
6. Gal 5:16-17
7. 1 Peter 2:11

(S-2) The 3 areas of attack
* Saints humans are made up of 3 main areas – the soul, the body, and the spirit. The devil wants to destroy our soul, body, and spirit!
* These 3 total our whole being!
1. The spirit
1. James 4:7-8
2. Rom 8:7
2. The soul
1. Job 12:10
2. Heb 5315:
1. (properly) a breathing creature, i.e. animal.
2. (abstractly) of vitality.
3. Heb 5314
1. to breathe.
2. (passively) to be breathed upon.
3. (figuratively) to be refreshed (as if by a current of air).
4. Psa 19:7
3. The body
1. 2 Cor 10:3-6
2. Romans 6:6-7, 12-13, (Romans 6 Homework)
