Who are you?
• 1 Samuel 16:1-13
• Do you know who you are?
• Seriously, do you know who you are?
• The world will try to tell you your …
◦ Nothing
◦ Bottom of the barrel
◦ The least of all your family
• But they don’t know what family you really belong too
◦ You belong to the family of Yahwah!
◦ You have a family of Yahwah here on earth
◦ You also have family in Heaven
• They don’t know who you really are. You’re a child of the King!
• He’s not just any king, He’s the King of kings
◦ 1 Timothy 6:15 - Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
◦ Revelation 17:14 - These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
◦ Revelation 19:16 - And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
• People will try to convince you…
◦ You’ll never amount to nothing
◦ You’ll always be a second rate... (Insert an occupation)
• You need to stop listening to those other voices that try to tell you who you are.
• Can you imagine what would have happened if the woman caught in the act of adultery listened to all the people around her?
• Let’s read that story
◦ John 8:1-11
◦ She had the scribes and Pharisees accusing her of adultery and brought her before Yahwah Messiah
◦ All he did was write on the ground.
◦ He finally said “He that is without sin cast the first stone”
◦ He said this to prick their own conscience
◦ He stooped down again and wrote on the ground
◦ All her accusers left
◦ Yahwah Messiah said to her “Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?”
◦ Then Yahwah Messiah said the words this woman never thought she would hear “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
• You see, all the voices she heard around her were filtered out and then she heard that small still voice.
• 1 Kings 19:11-12
• You know that if a child and a mother are in a crowded room and the child is on the other side of the room that child can call out to their mother and the mother would hear them. The same goes for the parent. If the parent called out to the child he too would hear them.
• Yahwah has built within us a unique way of filtering out noise around us.
• That’s what we need to do, is to filter out the background noise of the world and hear His small, still voice.
