The Lord, My Rock and Fortress

“I love You, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” – Psalm 18:1-2

David declares his deep love for God, recognizing Him as the ultimate source of strength and protection. In times of danger, David didn’t rely on his own ability but trusted in the Lord, his rock and fortress. These images remind us that God is unshakable, unmovable, and a place of absolute security.

Not only is God a fortress that shields us from harm, but He is also our deliverer. No matter what battles we face—spiritual, emotional, or physical—He is the one who rescues and upholds us. He is our stronghold, a safe place where we can find refuge and renewal.

This passage calls us to put our full trust in God, not in temporary sources of security. When life is uncertain, He remains our solid foundation.
