Episode 4- part 1
It took many weeks after receiving the baptism with the Holy Ghost in my prayer language to settle a little bit. My whole world was new and had been turned upside down. I continued to stay in the word of God and study and when I didn’t understand something, I didn’t turn to a man and ask questions, I didn’t research, I took it to the Lord. Every man has their own interpretation of what things are, but if they are not being led by the spirit of God, then sometimes it is just an opinion.
So I would dig out my strongest concordance, my Greek thesaurus I would turn to some of the ancient historian, such as Josephus, I would look at root words and then the final say would come from the Holy Spirit. And this was the way I learned.
Sometimes we simply follow the faith that we have been taught from our parents, from our local church and other outside influences, but when you want the pure unadulterated word of God and an understanding, you have to lay it before the Lord.
I felt like my heart was on fire for Jesus And there was nothing that I would not do for him. Wherever he called, whatever he said, I was on it. It didn’t matter anymore what I felt or how I perceived things.
My next adventure in the Lord came just a bit of time after that. I got another phone call, and I was asked if I would be interested in going into the local correctional center, the women’s wing, to speak to the women. I had been asked because of my sharing at the national youth rally of what God had brought me out of.
I thought, “OK God, what are you up to now“. I had to take an orientation course, and get signed up with security etc.
I wasn’t exactly sure of what my role was going to be and what I was to talk on, I did not know where to start. So I took it to the Lord. I was still pretty new at this.. and I only wanted what the Lord wanted me to say.
As I prayed, the Lord told me that when I went into the synagogues or before magistrates etc. that the Holy Ghost will give me the words in that self same hour, Luke 12:11-12 paraphrased. So off I went . The lady that I had gone in with introduced me, and I opened my mouth to speak, and the Lord just took over into this day. I do not know what all he brought me to say. I know that I spoke on the power of prayer and of the Lord being with you, even when you went to the courts,(which many were waiting to do) , and that no matter what happened he was with you and would help you if you only asked.
Two weeks later I came back, and the response from these women was phenomenal, I could see the Lord moving with all of the that I had prayed with! I remember when very pretty girl that came to me, and she told me how that she had no hope, and that when I prayed with her, she felt something happen, and when she went to court she found that many of her charges have been dropped, and that the Lord had taken her desire for drugs away from her. And that her family had been in touch with her. All things that we had asked the Lord.
