Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

This morning is a bit later than normal. We had a confusion this morning on time for his doctor appointment. I had 9 on my phone, he had 8 on his. I set my alarms to accommodate for the 9 appointment time but when he said he had recorded different and earlier time, I had to forego my writing time. When we got there, the receptionist was confused. Apparently back in November a letter was sent rescheduling his appointment. Now, I do not remember that letter, but … I do not remember a lot of things. So, in this instance, we were both wrong…haha. However, it eased the tension to get back in time to take care of the other appointment in the other direction of my home.

In times past, an oversight like this morning would have sent me into a tailspin. I do not consider myself OCD influenced; however, I am in many ways. I get tunnel vision and that is the only path to take. When that path is disrupted, it tends to tip my apple cart. This area in my life, God has been working with me. He has been showing me that not all things need to be a battle. I do not have to prove my point every time. Whether I am right or not, it is not always necessary to display it.

One way that he has taught me how to pivot is a simple saying that I heard a while back and it makes such profound sense. Is what I want to say truthful? Is what I want to say helpful? Is what I want to say necessary?

Anyone who knows me … knows that I only speak the truth. When I mis-speak I own it, but when I speak, I speak what I know to the truth. I will also clarify if it is opinion or fact.

Most who know me and I have explained in here that I am a fixer. I like to help people. Whether in a physical capacity, a spiritual or emotional capacity or even at times, financial.

In the first two criteria of getting better in the pivot lane, is it necessary? Is it necessary for my involvement? Now this is not a concept to try and dodge my Spirit led path, but am I involving myself to be in the middle because I am a busy body or did the Spirit place me there. Many times I thought I was ‘helping’ because ‘I knew’ and all I did was create a bigger mess.

So… when a situation comes up. I ask myself, do I have enough of the facts to be truthful and will my involvement be helpful or detrimental. Once I answer those two questions, then I can see if my involvement is necessary for the correct outcome.

How does that pertain to today’s pivot?

I could have lost my temper about a wasted morning. I could have blamed the doctor’s office for failing to notify. I could have blamed my husband for not giving me the mail. I could have handled this in a much harder and different way. But with His guidance, I have learned how to roll with the punches. This world is full of chaos and pitfalls. It is so easy to get caught up in the instant uncomfortableness and get angry…but what does that gain us. Really? I am not interested in losing any more peace than I already have. So now I live by the three questions. Is it truthful? Is it helpful? Is it necessary?

Be blessed today my friends.
