Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Last night, the President gave his first State of the Union speech for this term. Because of the time that it was airing, I opted to not stay up. However, when I laid my head on the pillow after my prayers, and snuggled into my comfy bed, after setting my alarms … a notice popped up that he was live. I opened the AP up and began to watch. Unfortunately for my sleep schedule, I watched about an hour, maybe less. What I saw … well ….

Yesterday I had a very polite and respectful discussion with a friend about our president. They are in another country and are not happy about what he is doing. By conversation’s end, we agreed to disagree.

As I watched part of the speech last and as I woke up this morning thinking about it … President Trump’s speech … was just a speech. The Democrats in their passive resistance clothing attire, their eggs, their clackers, their signs … they were peacefully protesting. But honestly … none of that matters. It doesn’t. What matters then you might ask. Very good question.

What matters is WHO do you believe? Rather…Who do you believe in?

All the political speeches in the world mean nothing. All the protests against the other parties mean nothing. What has value and meaning is where does your allegiance fall?

My allegiance falls to the Truth. My allegiance falls to Grace. My allegiance falls to Mercy. My allegiance falls to Love. My allegiance falls to God the Father.

Nothing else matters.

We get so caught up in the politically childish (not child-like) behavior that we forget who is really in control. What happens in Washington DC is not going to change the world by me while watching the president talk on television and either agreeing or disagreeing with what he says. What is going to change the world is my faith in my Father that this, too, is all part of His bigger plan. And leaving it there. What is going to change the world is one kind act at a time. What is going to change the world is people from opposite sides of the political venue coming together for the common good. What is going to change the world … honestly … Love.

Today I want you to put aside your political view of either party in the white house. Put aside your personal distaste for the other side. Once you have those thoughts and feelings in a drawer, then I want you too look outside and see the beauty that God has provided and the opportunities that He has delivered for you (us) to make a difference.

There are many people in the office that I work in that do not agree with my political viewpoints. But you know what … we work hard together…we respect each other’s right to believe as they will…and they will give you the shirt off their back if you were in need. That is what we … as Christians must maintain our vigilance on … the demonstrations of Christ’s love … not the clamoring of the enemy’s divide. Join me today as I spread His Love to all I meet on the street.

Be blessed today my friends.

***My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless will minister to me. – Psalm 101:6
