Heavenly Father, As the first day of Lent begins, we come before you with open hearts and minds. We thank you for the gift of this new day and for the opportunity to observe this holy season of fasting and prayer.

We ask for your guidance and strength as we embark on this 40-day journey of self-reflection and sacrifice. Help us to turn away from our selfish desires and turn towards you with a renewed sense of devotion and commitment.

As we meditate on your Word, may your scriptures guide us and reveal to us the areas in our lives that need your healing and guidance. Give us the courage to let go of anything that hinders our relationship with you and to fully surrender to your will.

May this time of fasting and prayer bring us closer to you and deepen our understanding of your great love for us. Help us to walk in obedience to your Word and to show love and compassion to those around us.

We pray that you would pour out your blessings upon us and that this season of lent will be a transformative and life-changing experience. May we emerge from it with renewed faith and a deeper relationship with you.
