Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

I am coming to you a little later than normal. We are on a mini vacation and my eyes just woke up to start the day. It is nearly 7 am. My body aches from being asleep so long. I really need a cup of coffee.

Today we are going to explore this town and see what there is. Neither of us have been here. We have both driven through many times, however never stopped to smell the roses and see the sights. He just checked the temperature and wind gusts; we should be robust enough to not blow away. The wind gust were estimated last night up to 50 miles an hour…they are only going to be 16 today…I think we are good. Haha.

Do you ever feel like you are being blown around like a rag doll? It always feels like you are continuously marching into the wind then a cross gust takes you off your feet? Then, all of a sudden, it is calm and you are still in a position to push forward, but there is no resistance? Welcome to the life of a Christian.

When I realized that I wanted to follow Christ, my mom challenged me a little. Not because she did not want me to accept Him, but she wanted me to understand the commitment I was about to make. I gave her all ‘right’ answers. That was nearly 40 years ago. In the course of that time, I have had some really smooth ground to walk on. No issues. No troubles. No nothing. Of course, that was the time that I said I was a Christian or that I believed in God … but nothing else. I was not doing anything for Him, so the enemy had nothing to worry about.

Then in 1992, I became a target for the enemy. I was pregnant with my first daughter and that pregnancy was strewn with issues. Ultimately my daughter was born premature and then went home to heaven five months later. At that point, I was so mad at God … that I threw him out of my life. From that point on I was like my video a few days ago, going against the current of God. He knew his plan for me. I just didn’t like it. He knew I was coming into His season, I just didn’t want to. Satan really had his digs in me. HOWEVER, God’s digs were deeper. He sent me back to where we first met. My home church. My cornerstone here on earth. When the enemy saw that I was getting my footing in His world again, he (the enemy) bolstered my ego so much that I acted like a know it all when in fact I knew very little. The enemy is not afraid of the church, he preys (not pray) on it and usings our human faults against us in such a manner that we think we are just in our actions. It was bad enough that I left and went church surfing. Ultimately, the ‘feel’ was never right and I could always find an excuse not to go. After a while of bopping in and out of my home church…I think I have landed again.

Throughout those years, I never lost my faith. I lost my temper. I lost my temper with God. Throughout those years I felt like I was always walking into the wind gusts only to be hit by a side breeze. The battle was endless. Now, that I am stable again in my home, I can recognize the gusts verses the nudges.

While we are walking we are going to encounter things that just do not make sense and we have fought hard to correct. “Why cant they see what is going on” will be our new thought process. “Why cant they see what they are doing” will be swirling wind. “Why don’t they just change” will be our headache. Those answers lie with the Father. While in an after service gathering, I asked my pastor and his wife for guidance…I love these people…they give such simple answers you want to fight them but you cant because you know they are right. In those cases where you are walking into the gusts trying to make headway and the side breeze of the world knocks you off your feet … pray. That’s right. Pray.

Some of those battles are not yours to see the Victory in. Some of those battles were just put there so you can stay your course of Christ-like behavior. Some of those battles the enemy uses to throw you off your game and cause you to stumble. I know that I have stumbled a lot more times than I can count or even want to admit. However, since that talk and their advice, to which I have applied, the side breezes to not bother me as much. Nor do the constant battles against the wind gusts to make headway for the Kingdom.

Do not be dismayed my friends. Be blessed today.
