"They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.” "
John 4:42
Jesus met a Samaritan woman at Jacob's well and told her everything about her life.
As he continued to speak to this woman about who he is, she started to believe that he could be the Christ.
When Jesus told her he was, she believed fully and went back to her town and told everybody about her encounter.
Her testimony was enough to make many Samaritans in the town believers.
But something changes when you experience things for yourself.
When you transition from secondhand information to firsthand information from a firsthand experience.
This is the importance of this devotional.
That every day it helps you draw closer to God, that your faith will continue to build as you read the Word daily.
The Samaritan woman, at this time, was living an adulterous life and more than likely practicing superstitious practices that Samaritans were known for.
But she still believed.
Don't let anything from your past or your current situation prevent you from receiving and believing the Word of God and all the promises written.
These aren't promises of the past for others to reap.
These promises are true for you, and when you believe them with your whole heart you will experience them for yourself.
"Lord, I believe you. Every word written and spoken is all truth. Father, as I continue to seek you daily let your voice be magnified in my life. That I will be able to hear your instructions clearly and couple it with the faith to walk in it daily. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."
