Who’s messing up my workshop? From time to time, I go in and totally clean my workshop. Every tool is in its place, and everything is clean, swept, and dusted. It looks nice, but within a few weeks it is a mess again. My wife said she didn’t do it, I say I didn’t do it, so who did? Well, when she is through with a project, maybe she didn’t put one thing back where it belonged. When I finished a project, I was tired, so I didn’t put everything back in its proper place when I finished, so after a while it was messy again. It is an accumulation of small decisions that had a big outcome.
It’s that same way in your marriage, relationships and even with God. No one intends to mess up a marriage or destroy a relationship, but all those little bad decisions will accumulate into marital mess, hurting relationships, or even a coolness towards God. Don’t just focus on not making the huge bad decision, but watch for all those little ones you make day by day, because they will be the ones that will eventually cause the mess. No project is done until the tools are put away, and no relationship is healthy without taking care of the little things each day.
Luke 16:10 “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
