"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.'" – Revelation 21:3-4
Heaven isn’t just a far-off concept or a nice idea—it’s a promise for those who put their faith in Jesus Christ. A place where sorrow, pain, and death are replaced with joy, peace, and eternal fellowship with God. It’s hard to imagine the full glory of what God has prepared for us, but the hope of Heaven gives us strength to press on, even in life’s toughest moments.
One thing that I look forward to when I get to heaven is seeing my loved ones that have gone on before! I can think of many, but of course I look forward to getting one of those hugs that my mom used to give me! But that’s just one aspect of heaven that I can look forward to. I know there are more exciting things that I can’t even imagine!
I often think about the hymn "When We All Get to Heaven." It invites us to consider the joy and wonder of standing in the presence of Jesus. He’s the reason we will be there! The pain, heartaches, trials and struggles of this life will fade in the light of His glory, and the reunion with loved ones who have gone before will bring unexplainable joy. But above all, the greatest reward will be seeing Jesus face-to-face—the One who made it all possible.
Have a great day, and as always, let others see Jesus in you!
