Alone with God

Ask, seek, and knock.

1 Peter 3:15-16
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

If a stranger were to walk up to you in public and ask you who you believe in and why, would you be ready to give an answer, or would you have to stop and think for a while?

Friend, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be our teacher and our guide. John 14:26 says that "The Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, he will teach you all things and bring to you a remembrance all that I have taught you". If we are not spending time reading our Bibles during the 24-hour period He has given us all, how are we going to know what to tell someone who asks us to explain our faith? How can we be effective warriors for Christ when His Word is not in us? The truth is we can't, which is why it is very important for us to find a quiet corner of our sanctuary and get into the presence of our Lord and Savior every day.

Spend time getting to know the One who gave His all for you. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a way that will leave you in wonder. Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:7 "ask, and it will be given to you, seek, and you will find, knock, and it will be opened to you". Are you willing to do that today?
