Have you ever noticed that we are quickly captivated by our knowledge of different words? Sometimes to the point of making up our own definitions of words.
I will be the first to admit that I did not fully understand the concept of someone who claimed to be Agnostic. In my mind, it was just someone who was stubborn but wanted to sound spiritually sorted. Then when they put the word spiritually in front of it, it just complicated my brain.
So if you Google ‘agnostic’ … Mirriam Webster defines it as such:
: a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (such as God) is unknown and probably unknowable
broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god

: a person who is unwilling to commit to an opinion about something
When people claim that they are Agnostic, they truly believe that is a good thing. Not to believe anything but kinda. Then when they put the word (spiritually) in front of it, they seem to believe that it is a form or Christianity without actually committing. Thus believing that they are secure in going to Heaven. This is a shame. This is why.
When we go to the original Greek, we find that the word for agnostic comes from the word agnosis. Paul used this word when he spoke of the ‘ignorance’ of the Athenian judges and scholars. The root of the word is gnosis simply means knowledge. However when you place the ‘a’ in front of it, it becomes the opposite meaning. Therefore agnosis does not mean knowledge, but rather refers to the lack of knowledge, a lack of intelligence, ignorance, even stupidity. With his gnosis, or knowledge, I can now work against the enemy’s plots to deceive those who believe that they are safe in their belief system. It is just one of many ways that the enemy is using the lack of knowledge and a creative spin to capture and trap souls.
My friends, it is very important that we understand what we are talking about before we open our mouths. It is very important to know what we are claiming before we are willing to die on that hill. Those who believe that they can still get into heaven because they are spiritually agnostic, are moving their way into a first-class ticket to Hell. We may not be able to convince them in our presence and presentation, but with the love and guidance of the One true God, we can plant the seeds for the spirit to take root.
Father, I come to you with an open a heart and mind. I pray Lord that you will use me to educate, love, and guide those who have been blinded by the enemy’s twist on the truth.
