Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
The air is cool and fresh this morning. There is a newness about the quality. Birds are even commenting this morning on how clean and invigorating this morning is. With hot coffee in hand and boots on my feet, walking the dog is like getting a dose of heaven right here on earth.
Yesterday, and for a few days now, was full of rain showers and cooler temperatures. Days like that, the enemy uses to bring us down and put us in a dark place. Dull and gloomy outside, lack of light inside… a lot of images can come to mind. However, rain … no matter how fierce…does not have to be a downer. As a matter of fact, it should be a light. How can you get Light out of gloomy wet weather? It is very simple. Choose to see it. See the other side of what the weather is for and doing.
In those gloomy days, I remember that winter is killing off the old and making way for the new. Spring (which is what we are in now) is for the watering the seeds that have been planted and washing away that which does not need to be here. Summer is the growing season. The sun and its wonderous heat, warming the watered seeds and causing them to sprout roots and grow. Then comes autumn. The season of harvesting all that has been planted. It is a perfect set of recurring seasons.
If we keep giving the enemy avenues in which to walk along side us, he will take them and make the most of them. However, if we see what the Son is doing in those seasons…even if barely a glimmer, then the enemy has no power, and we can enjoy the Light within the gloom.
Today is His day. Take time to spend with him in his house if you can or at least spend time with him in yours … in silence, on his lap, with your head on his chest.
