As we embark on the weekend, what are your plans and how do those plans involve Jesus? Eww. That wasn’t fair Karalee, you asked about my plans but then you asked how we were going to involve Jesus. We have to plan that?
So, why wouldn’t we want to make an effort to make sure that He was in our plans. Would it not be to our benefit to confirm his attendance to our event to insure that we followed his ways. For instance, your weekend includes going to the flea market. As you arrive, ask Him to help you mind your finances and stay within the budget you set for yourself for this trip. Maybe it is a hike in a state park, ask Him to protect you from any dangers and to display his glory throughout the hike. Perhaps you are going to spend a quiet weekend at home, ask Him to show himself in the shows that you watch and social media that you scroll. Whatever the plans are, be sure to invite Him to join.
Now, in these plans, actively search for Him. It could be a child picking dandelions on the trail for his mom. It could be a lady helping and elderly person to their table at the restaurant. It could be the sighting of an eagle on your drive or circling the flea market. There are so many facets that we can find God; we just have to open our eyes. When you sincerely ask Him to join you, the experience is so much more inviting. When you invite Him to come play with you, the games are so much more fun and memorable. When you seek His presence, you seek His peace.
As you are making your plans for the weekend, invite the Father to join you. You will be amazed at the outcome and the opportunity that present themselves to you to show His love.
