Time moves quickly. 52 years ago I walked aboard my first duty station in the US Navy with the crew of the USS Fortify (MSO446), homeported in Agana, Guam. We participated in Operation End Sweep, the final naval operation of the Vietnam War, as part of a 40 ship flotilla in Haiphong Harbor, North Vietnam to remove the mines which were placed as part of the original blockade of the harbor.
