Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

I will be the first one to admit that I watch way too many videos on my phone. I would like to think that I am getting better at walking away from my phone, however, it really depends on the time of day and what my state of mind is. When I get home, I am pretty good at just sitting my phone down and walking away…as a matter of fact, I have handful of people who get frustrated with me because I do not answer right away, plus it is on silent so I will not hear the vibrations if I leave it in another room…sometimes not even if it is right beside me … ha-ha. The same can be said for my computer when I sit down at it. I do my quick notifications check, clear my email, and then find the reels on Facebook and spend a lot of time there. Share a few and enjoy the rest. In that scrolling time I will inevitably find those that will completely and utterly speak to my soul. Such as the case today.

As I was drinking my coffee and enjoying time with my husband, I ran across a video of a newer content creator, at least to me. I had seen a post from him yesterday that was good, and he popped up again today to educate me. I listened intently and then fact checked what he said. I learned something today and I am going to share it with you.

To be honest, you may have already learned this, so if that is the case, please just thank God that He showed this to me today.

The question was posed to remember the scene of Jesus on the cross and his words “My god, My god, why have you forsaken me”. It has always been my understanding that he said that because God had turned his back on his son due to the unsurmountable amount of sin that was covering him to atone for us. It was so much that God could not even look at his son anymore. Where this may be true, there is also another explanation. This is what I learned today.

We know the Psalms by the numbers thanks to the translators for early times. However, the people of that time knew the psalms by the first line. Such as, The lord is my shepherd…we all know as the 23rd Psalm. Well, My God, my God why have you forsaken me? Is the first line of Psalm 22. After actually reading it, that psalm is the death of Jesus foretold by David. Before when I read it, I just read the words…but go back and read it again. Not only is it the death of Jesus…it is the life after his death and what is available to all mankind. It starts off gloomy and dark and ends with hope.

This is so profound to me. Makes me want to learn even more. Makes me want to share even more. Makes me remember, that no matter what I am going through, there is Hope. I need to focus on that. When we focus on Hope, the dark dissipates quickly.

I encourage you to read Psalm 22. Read it slowly and with purpose. Pray for clear understanding then enjoy the peace that it brings to heart because we know how the story ends.

Be blessed today my friends.
