""I was in a meeting and prayed over a girl who had back pain. All the pain left instantly. But the next night, it came back. I prayed again, and as soon as I did, the pain moved—from her lower back to her mid-back, then to her shoulder. I’ve noticed that when pain starts shifting like that during prayer, it often points to a demonic root.
I asked the Lord what was going on, and the moment I asked, I heard: “YOGA.”
So I asked her if she had been practicing yoga. She looked confused at first, then said, “I started having this pain the day I began yoga classes.” I had her renounce yoga, prayed over her again, and she was instantly healed. The pain never returned.
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this pattern. I’ve seen it happen multiple times—someone opens the door through yoga, and a demonic spirit comes to afflict. Yoga, along with other New Age practices, is a common doorway for demonic oppression.
Most people don’t realize that yoga is the communion of Hinduism. Just like we take bread and wine in communion with Christ, yoga is communion with Hindu gods. I once met a professor who grew up in India, and he told me, “In India, we say you can’t take Hinduism out of yoga, and you can’t take yoga out of Hinduism.”
The word “yoga” literally means “to be yoked.” It’s not just exercise—it’s a spiritual practice designed to align the body, soul, and spirit. As believers, we align our being by yielding to the Holy Spirit. When you participate in any spiritual practice apart from Him, you’re unknowingly opening your soul to other spirits—and they’re not holy.
Yoga. Middle Eastern meditation. Opening chakras. Crystal energy. Tarot. All of it opens the door to the demonic.
But here’s the good news: In Christ, we have access to the spiritual realm through the Holy Spirit. He is more than enough. He is everything we need.
If you’ve opened the wrong doors—renounce it. Command every demonic spirit to leave. And invite Jesus to take full lordship over that area of your life."
