Some time ago, a woman came to one of our outreaches asking for prayer against oppression. She had a demon tormenting her and couldn’t get free, no matter how much she prayed.
As I began to pray over her, I had a clear vision of a quartz crystal and asked if it meant anything to her. She told me she kept the crystal in her home for protection. I led her to renounce her attachment and agreement with it. As soon as she did, We commanded the Spirit of Divination to leave and her body began to shake violently. She started hissing, then collapsed to the ground. she took a deep breath and began to weep, saying, “It’s gone. I finally feel peace.”
Now crystals in themselves are not demonic but when we put faith in them and use their energy for only what God brings, we are inviting spiritual bondage in our lives.
Many people don’t realize that New Age and occult practices open the door to demonic oppression. We cannot mix the Holy Spirit with the spirit of this world. The Holy Spirit is all-sufficient. Whether we need protection, provision, healing, wisdom, or love—it is all found in Jesus alone.
When we turn to other sources—horoscopes, psychics, palm readings, crystals, Reiki, yoga, mind control—we give the enemy legal access to afflict our souls.
If you’ve dabbled in any of these things, know this: there is power in the blood of Jesus to wash away all sin, and there is power in the name of Jesus to cast out every demon.
