Romans 8:1 – "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

Romans 8:1 is a verse of incredible assurance: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.” But the second part of the verse is equally vital: “Who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
This verse reminds us that freedom from condemnation is not just a promise—it’s a transformation. To be “in Christ Jesus” means that our lives are no longer governed by the desires of the flesh but are led by the Spirit of God. This transformation is the evidence that we belong to Him.

Walking according to the Spirit means living in a way that reflects Christ’s character—choosing love over selfishness, faith over fear, and obedience over rebellion. It’s not about perfection, but about direction. When we live as God would have us, we show the world that we are truly “in Christ Jesus.”

The second part of this verse challenges us to examine our walk. Are we living as evidence of the freedom Christ has given us? Or are we still clinging to the ways of the flesh? The Spirit empowers us to live in victory, and our lives become a testimony of God’s grace and power.
