Scriptures from James quotes by me Andrew Tennant

Todays devotions was from the bread of life these verses from James stood out the most to me I was supposed to read James 1:1-12 but 13-15 went right along with The last part of it. But first insight on James 1:5-8. Its about faith in asking for wisdom.

There has been times that I have ask for wisdom and I never recived it, or at least I did not think I received any, but now I think that it was because I was not asking in faith, and that I was divided between God and the world around me I was only half heartedly trusting that God would give me wisdom and putting more faith in my own way of understanding and in the way that the world viewed wisdom. And I was also very lost in the world and what the world could do for me. So how could God give me wisdom when I ask, and I just did not believe in the promise that he would if I ask in faith.

James 1:5-8 NLT
5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.

This is my insight on James 1:12-15.
Well these last 2 weeks I have been tempted and Monday night I failed, but this week I was tempted and passed. And because I did not give in, Christ gave me a way out, the worst of the temptation came Thursday night after I got off work, I got home and my wife Pami was already in bed, but I did not come to bed until after 1:00 am I tried to find a movie and found one, but I was not in the mood to watch a 2 1/2 hour movie plus I would not have gotten in bed before 3:00 am so I just went to my notifications and deleted them, and then did some moterator duty's on my wife's Facebook group, and after that I started going through facebook reels, and was being tempted so I just put the phone down and went to bed. But I use to think God why are you tempting me, or why am I going through this temptation. Now I do know that God does not tempted people but we will allow you to be tempted to strengthen your faith. And temptation only comes from Satan and brings death to though who give into it and keep given into the same sin over and over.

James1:12-15
12 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.
14 Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away.
15 These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.
