I have a friend who is a pastor and during Holy Week leading up to Easter they do a self guided tour for the last night of Jesus death. This picture represents John 13 the foot washing chapter where Jesus takes a cloth and washes His disciples feet. Here Jesus tells His disciples that they are called to be servants, here Jesus sets the example of being a servant. The picture shows the dirty water of washed feet.
As I reflect on Jesus being the servant King, I remember one of my heroes of faith Dietrich Bonhoffer who wrote "The Church does not need brilliant personalities, but faithful servants"
My prayer is God make me your faithful servant.
