THE QUEEN IS CHOSEN

Many do not know the process of how a queen bee is chosen in a hive. It is a fascinating look into the planning and foresight God gave his creation in the beginning.

First of all, let's make it very clear that a beehive in itself, is an organized and detailed group of bees with different tasks they already know how to do. How do they know what to do? That should already disprove evolution theory. Add to that, the fact we have absolutely NO fossil evidence of bees evolving gradually.

Now onto the queen. The queen bee begins as a regular female bee larva, and is chosen by the worker bees to become queen. They do this by changing her diet by feeding her a substance called royal jelly - a milky-white, gelatinous substance secreted by the worker bees. It's a protein-rich food source, containing vitamins, amino acids, and other nutrients.

As she feeds on this exclusively, her body begins to change. She grows larger, her reproductive organs change, and it gives her a longer lifespan. 15 days later, the queen emerges by eating a hole through the special cell that was made for her, that was covered with wax. If other queens were made, and sometimes there are, only one will survive.

The queen then does a special flight called a mating flight, where she will mate with drone bees. She will then come back and very soon begin to lay eggs within cells in the honeycomb. She can lay 2,000 eggs a day!

When the queen life cycle is coming to an end, the worker bees can sense it, as the pheromones given off from the queen will start to lessen (they live 3-5 years). They will then start preparing for a new queen, and start feeding another female bee larva royal jelly, starting the process all over again.

This entire cycle can't just start somewhere in the middle, or even evolve in steps. It had to happen just right, from the beginning.

From the Institute for Creation Research (ICR):

"The queen bee's role is vital and predetermined, mirroring the biblical truth that God designs each creature with a purpose (Jeremiah 1:5). Evolution cannot explain how an entire colony knows its function immediately - but designed by an all-wise Creator can"

Dr. Georgia Purdom (Phd, molecular genetics, Answers in Genesis) In a lecture about insects and design:

"Queen bees demonstrate a level of biological programming that shouts design, not chance. As Psalm 104:24 says, 'O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all,"
