But never mentioned sacrifice wrapped in the gown of commitment.
They sold me chemistry, but never dared to mention covenant.
Made me chase passion, but never said it gets you pregnant.
Hollywood said, “Follow your heart.”
But my Bible said, “Guard your heart.”
No, Love is not butterflies
So don’t believe their lies

They told me love was candlelit dinners, poetry under the moon,
But true love is prayers, whispered over a sleeping spouse at noon.
They made me crave for romance, but never spoke of responsibility,
Made a case for beauty, but were silent on the virtues of Modesty
Hollywood said, “Love is blind, no flaw does it see.”
But my Bible said, “Love sees truth, it sets you free.”
No, love is not butterflies,
So don’t believe their lies.

But feelings change my friends and at a very fast rate
