Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Why do people like S & M?

Are we awake now? Did not see that coming did you? Don’t worry, neither did I.

Why do people drink in excess? Why do they do recreational drugs? Why do people drive at high rates of speed?

Yeah…I did not announce a pop quiz. I also did not give a warning before you took that first sip of coffee. My apologies.

What do all these activities have in common?

Okay, so maybe not a pop quiz, but theory mid-term.

Pleasure.

Physical pleasure. Escape. Adrenaline. False control.

The enemy’s playground.

I grew up in a generation where we kind of just did our thing. No real supervision, the understanding that if you crossed the line (and you always knew when you did) there would be consequences. No doubt in our mind that our parents were in control. That we under their authority. Never a question.

So, as we got older, we wanted that control. But we also wanted that release ability. We are a conflicted generation at best. Because in each of these questions … the control is limited. Once you begin indulging, the control is gone. You are no longer able to do all the shots, for your ability to make sound decisions is gone. It is at this time that the enemy takes yet another crack at you. While you are in a state of uncontrol.

Quick recap. The enemy persuades you that you will be the dominant of the choice you choose, but once you make that choice you are now the subject of that choice. And have no control.

The choice is so powerful that you desire more of it, but each time you surrender to the choice, you lose more and more control over your other choices and now have become a slave to your destructive choice.

A destructive choice is not just those I opened with. Those were just to get your attention. There are other choices that we make that are just as destructive to walk and witness.

Browbeating. Lying. Bitterness. Intimidation. Just to name a few.

My friends, just because we are Christian does not mean that we are not subject to these horrific choices. The enemy will color code these ideas to make them look Christian okay. He will use brow beating as ‘YOU need to get YOUR point across’. He will use bitterness when ‘YOU did not get YOUR way’. He will use lying and call it ‘YOU will get into trouble for YOUR choice if you tell the truth, no one will ever know’. Shall I continue?

The enemy is not happy that we have morals. He is not happy that we have control and exercise it. He is going to target us in hopes of wearing us down, but when that does not work, he will attack someone near us and look to find a back door to us but causing us to browbeat the Word into whom he has assaulted. Thus causing them to retreat further away from Love.

Today is the day we smash his head with our heal and choose to set the mark of Love. Today is the day that we choose not to surrender to our human desires or fall for his False Control schemes. Today we stand firm and guide another soul towards the Kingdom. Stand with me.

Be blessed today my friends.
