Stay Ready for the Fight
"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." - 1 Peter 5:8
The enemy does not fight fair. He does not announce his attacks in advance or wait until you are ready. He looks for the moment when you are distracted, when your guard is down, and when you least expect it. That is why you cannot afford to get so caught up in building your life, your faith, or your future that you forget to stay prepared for battle.
Nehemiah understood this. While the people of God were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, they did not just focus on the work. They stayed on guard, weapons in hand because they knew the enemy could attack at any moment. The same is true for you. You may be working on your healing, your relationships, your business, or your calling, but you have to be spiritually equipped because attacks can come in any form.
One day, everything seems fine, and the next, a crisis hits your family, a financial setback disrupts your plans, or doubt creeps into your mind. Just when it feels like you are making progress, something unexpected tries to knock you off course. This is why Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is taken by force. You cannot live passively and expect to overcome. You have to be spiritually disciplined, alert, and committed to the fight.
The weapons you need are not physical. They are spiritual. You fight with worship when you praise God despite what you are facing. You fight with the Word when you declare His promises over your life. You fight with prayer when you refuse to be silent in the presence of struggle. And you fight with your testimony when you remind yourself of everything God has already brought you through.
The enemy is hoping you will be passive. He is counting on you to get comfortable. But if you want to see the walls rebuilt in your life, if you want to step fully into what God has for you, you have to be willing to fight for it. Stay ready. Stay armed. Stay alert. Because the enemy is always looking for an opening. But when you are prepared, he does not stand a chance.
