Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God - —1 Corinthians 11:31-32

I have not started one of these pages with the scripture in a very long time. Like years. However, this morning, this is where my heart is sitting. This scripture.

This particular one, for me, goes hand in hand with this one:

Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. So watch yourselves.” – Luke 17:1-3

These two verses are how I try, and hopefully am succeeding, to live my life. There is no need for an expository of these two verses. They are pretty self-explanatory. Many times we try to find the ‘hidden’ meaning of a verse, but a lot of the time, if you just ‘read’ the verse, your heart will receive the message loud and clear.

For the last 8-10 years, I have made it clear to my bosses that I do not work for them. They insure I get a paycheck, but I work for God. As long as I can sit in my car at the end of the day and know without a doubt that I did my best for the day, it does not matter what they think. Mind you, I explain this thoroughly and respectfully. All that I do, I do for the Glory of God. (Some days are better than others.)

In the midst of giving glory to the One who deserves it, I am careful that my actions are not misunderstood and I do not misrepresent who I am faithful to so that I do not inadvertently make someone believe that it is okay to do one thing but say another. Frequently I am apologizing for my language because I cannot find anywhere in the bible where the good guys cursed. The closest curse words that I have found were “Woe to you…”

Since we are the bible that everyone reads, consistently and thoroughly, I like to present one worth reading. I do not want to be standing before the Judge on the day of my reckoning explaining why this one fell or that one based off my representation or lack of repentance.

I do take, as you saw yesterday, an unorthodox approach sometimes to reach the masses. In my office it is costumes and hugs. On the street, it is random comments and complements. At home, it is tending to my responsibilities. I am not perfect … that is for sure. I make my large share of failures. However, each day I take the role of being better than yesterday and put one foot in front of the other. I have many obstacles that I face with-in my personality daily, as we all do, but as I draw closer to Him, I find that these obstacles are not as massive as I once thought.

Today I encourage you to walk by these two scriptures segments and while doing so remember that Love is goal.

Be blessed today my friends.
