“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.” —1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Tomorrow is Mother's Day. We will be honoring all mothers! But for those of us whose mothers have gone to be with the Lord, we only have to honor their memory. Losing someone we love is never easy. The grief can feel overwhelming at times, and the longing for just one more conversation, one more hug is a weight carried in the heart. But as believers, our sorrow is not without hope.

God promises a reunion, a day when those saved ones who have gone before us in faith will rise and we will be together again. What a glorious day that will be! I know I, for one, can’t wait—I’ve missed my mother’s hugs for 26 years, but by God’s grace, there’s a day coming when I will feel that embrace again.

But as much as we long for that reunion, we must remember why we are going to heaven. Our hope isn’t merely in seeing our loved ones—it’s in standing face to face with Jesus Christ. Heaven is about Him, about worshiping the One who redeemed us, the One who made this reunion possible. Seeing our loved ones again is a gift, but being with the Lord for all eternity is the true joy of heaven.

Imagine that moment—stepping into glory, seeing the radiance of Christ, knowing that every sorrow, every tear, every longing is now fulfilled in His presence! Anticipating that day is just another reason to praise Him, love Him and serve Him!

Have a great day, and as always, let others see Jesus in you!
