THE SILVERSMITH AND THE REFINER’S FIRE
“He will SIT as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.”
Malachi 3:3 NKJV
A woman goes to a man who is a silver smith and asks, “when you go to the silver shop tomorrow, may I watch you work?” He agreed. The day comes when she is now in the company of the silversmith. And he proceeds to tell her, “I place the silver in the most hottest spot of the fire.” She remembered the verse in Malachi 3:3 where it says, “…the refiner sits.” So she asked the silversmith, “do you sit while you are placing the silver in the hottest past of the flame?” He says, “yes!” “Why”, she’s asks. “Well, I must keep a close eye on the silver until all the impurities are removed from it. And I watch it closely to make sure it’s not there too long or I will end up destroying the silver.”
She then she asks, “Okay, so how long then, do you know when the silver is pure and refined? He says, “Well that’s easy, when I see MY IMAGE in it!”
