Embracing Our Divine Calling: A Call to Action
May 11,2025
Mark 3:14, Ephesians 4:11-12, 2 Timothy 1:6-7
As believers, we are all called by the Lord to a higher purpose. This calling encompasses two vital aspects: discipleship and apostleship. We are called out of the world to follow Him (discipleship) and then sent out into the world to spread His message (apostleship). Despite this profound calling, many believers remain unaware or nonchalant about their roles.
The Danger of Neglect
Just like a charged battery that remains unused will eventually drain, believers who fail to utilize their spiritual gifts and calling will become powerless and ineffective. Instead of always waiting until leaders provide new insights, we should be proactive in pursuing God's Word and living out our faith.
Overcoming Limitations
Jealousy, envy, and other vices can hinder us from fulfilling our calling. Let's pray that we do not remain wasters of divine resources and that God guides us to become wise and useful vessels for His purpose.
A Call to Action
Let's reflect on our own lives and ask:
- Are we living out our calling as disciples and apostles?
- Are we utilizing our spiritual gifts to serve others?
- Are we dependent on others for spiritual growth, or are we taking initiative?
