Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

In May we celebrate our mothers. In June we celebrate our earthly fathers. We hold them up and pay respect to the sacrifices that they made. The learning curve that they overcame as parents. The societal judgements that stood against. The protection and nurturing that imparted on us and in us. Education and experience that they impowered us with.

Our mothers, this is their month. Today is their day. They carried us for nine months in their womb, our first and most impactful hug in our lives. A warmth of love from the heart, through her blood, to our little souls. The nurturing started there. When we came into this cruel world, there was but one who was fervent in our needs and protection for us. Our mother. Her instinct was no match for the world was offering. When we hurt, she hurt. When we rejoiced, she rejoiced. When we needed strength, she gave us hers. When we were hungry, she fed us. When we were thirsty, she gave us water. Regardless of how old we get; our mothers are our number one fan.

For those whose mother did not fit ‘this’ bill, the mother who raised you did. She may not have carried you internally, but she did carry you as soon as you entered her life.

Today, as we celebrate and enjoy our mothers, remember that they are not perfect. Remember that they made mistakes. Remember that regardless of their choices, they were the choices needed to make you the mighty warrior that you are. God chose each woman who birthed us and who raised us for a purpose. He does not make mistakes. Our mothers play a significant role in who we are. Today we hold them up with grand thanks for all that they did for us and in us.

Be blessed today my friends and remember to thank you mom.

***Sheh speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. – Proverbs 31:26-30
