"You're out of your mind," they told her... "It must be his angel." Acts 12:15

Thought Of The Day...
The Bible urges us to pray continually, prompting us to pray in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. We engage in prayer time and again. However, like any regular activity, prayer can sometimes become a mere routine, transforming into hollow rituals that lack depth and significance.

The early community of believers faced a similar challenge. When Peter was imprisoned by the Roman ruler Herod, the church held a prayer vigil for him. Miraculously, an angel of the Lord freed Peter, who then knocked on the door of those praying. Initially, they struggled to believe it was him—after all, God doesn’t answer prayers that fast! Yet, they discovered that God truly works wonders.

Do we genuinely believe that God answers our prayers? We often say yes, but do we pray with anticipation? Have we become so disillusioned that prayer feels like a futile routine? We must consider the words of James 4:3: "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives..." Expectant prayer moves beyond selfish desires, embracing the broader scope of God's will.

Prayer...
Heavenly Father, As I come before you today, I am reminded of your power and goodness. Your word in Acts 12:15 tells us of how you heard the prayers of your people and answered them. Lord, I desire to pray according to your will and to trust in your perfect timing.

Teach me, O Lord, to have faith and to expect your answers in ways that align with your purpose for my life. May I not be swayed by my own desires or worldly expectations, but instead, may I rely on your wisdom and trust in your plans for me.

Help me to be humble, Lord, and to accept your answers with a grateful heart, even if they may not be what I initially desired. For I know that your ways are higher than mine, and your thoughts are beyond my understanding.

May my prayers be aligned with your will, O Lord, so that I may see your hand moving in my life and the lives of those around me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
