THE COVENANT OF GRACE
In the new covenant, unlike in the old where people are expected to strive to live according to the law, God Himself does everything in the new one. It is God that gives us a New Heart and causes us to “will” to obey Him. On our own, none can live according to God’s standard just like in the old covenant where they failed to follow it. Salvation is God’s initiative and He will keep those whom He has saved.
Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Jer 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
Eze 36:26 - 27 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
