Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

I pray that everyone had a restful night’s sleep. I must say that my sleep was MUCH better. No mysterious shouts from the television and no storm crackers or potty breaks. A much better night’s sleep.

This morning I woke up to Hard Fought Hallelujah ringing through my head…and it is still there. I do like the song. I like the message that it presents. Also, there have been some commentary about the artist that brings questions of his sincerity behind the lyrics. That his life choices to not represent what his song is promoting, thus calling him a false profit.

I know the song, but not all the way. So, I did what we all do, I googled it. As I skim the lyrics the song is brilliant. That, then, brings to mind how does the artist conducts himself outside of the stage of praise and worship to bring on such attacks. Naturally, we are only going to see what his press wants us to see and perhaps something that the media will more than likely take out of context. So which area do you believe and which do you not?

As it is mentioned in 1 John, we are to test the spirits. Line up what is being said to the Word of God. Look to see if what is said is found to be true or false. When doing this in the context of whether you should like an artist or a preacher, you must remember that they are human, just as we are. They will fail, just as we fail. They will misrepresent…seemingly in innocence…just as we will. What we must not do is judge. That is not our place. Should you find yourself in a spirit testing juncture, remember that Love is the key. Just as if you see a brother sinning, you are to gently show them the Light, the same is true in those in the spotlight…though you cannot speak directly to the person, you can pray for them.

Remember, that regardless of what they are doing, because they are in God’s spotlight for building the Kingdom, if they run astray, they will be held doubly accountable. That is the choice that they made. So then, just as I do not agree with Joel Osteen, some think he is the best and next Billy Graham, however, I have found several of his messages lacking in Truth and thus pray that his eyes will be opened. I do not judge him; I just don’t agree with him. I believe he has a shroud over his eyes and only prayer will remove it. He will be held to higher standard because he is in a position of leadership and authority. For me, that is enough. I know that I serve a just God and if Joel is not fulfilling his created mission, then he has to answer for it.

Remember, that the enemy can twist scripture to make his agenda seem logical and right. Logical is usually, in my experience, to be the kicker that says it is probably from the enemy. Because logical usually implies that my will is being used and not God’s. I don’t know about you, but there have been any illogical situations that He has placed me in or requested of me. For me, the more illogical…the more it is probably from Him.

Take heed that each situation is different, and each situation needs to be tested. Prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and open your eyes to the Truth. Let today be the first day that your path is clear and your path illuminated.

Be blessed today my friends.
