Anchored in God’s Unchanging Nature
From the book: When Seasons Shift: Finding Stability in a Changing World
By Rev. Ishmael Asare Bakae
Introduction
Change is inevitable, but the one constant in every shifting season is God’s unchanging nature. When the world around us fluctuates—people change, circumstances shift, plans fall apart—God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Anchoring ourselves in His character brings stability and peace even when everything else is unstable.
Who is God in the Midst of Change?
• God is Faithful: His promises never fail. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
• God is Sovereign: He rules over every change and controls all outcomes. (Psalm 103:19)
• God is Compassionate: He understands our weaknesses and walks with us. (Psalm 103:13)
• God is Wise: His plans for us are good, even if we don’t understand them immediately. (Jeremiah 29:11)
• God is Our Refuge: A safe place where we can find rest amid the storm. (Psalm 46:1)
Why Anchor in God’s Nature?
1. Provides stability: His character is a rock amid shifting sands.
2. Builds confidence: Knowing He doesn’t change assures us of His continued help.

4. Encourages endurance: We can persevere knowing God is steady and sure.
