Good evening to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Thank you for joining me this evening. I have a pondering question for you this evening. It came to me at lunch, and I threw it out to some friends. The answers I received were quite interesting. So, I thought I would throw it out here and see what other answers might pop up.
The question is this:
If Lucifer was the most beautiful of all the angels…why is his shown as such a dark and hideous figure?
Would we not want to show him for his beauty, and this be a better warning for not all pretty things are good?
These two questions go hand in hand. The answers I received varied from…Good point. Interesting. That was a good and random question. For the off-the-cuff answers. Then there were the more in-depth answers such as…
When he defied God and was cast out, he became vile, ugly and undesirable. To remain beautiful would not be much of a deterrent. (Good thought/point)
Then there was the intriguing back and forth about it starting in mid-evil times and provoking thoughts throughout Christian Creeds and a lot more than I am going to type here…(good discussion)
To the moment he defied God he became horrific.
I am really interested in your thoughts and any points you would like to add. Feel free to offer a scripture reference. We are all here to learn and grow.
Be blessed.
