Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Where are you going?

It is a simple enough question. With simple enough answers.

However, is it really?

Last night I posed a question about Lucifer, his beauty, and why we display him as a monster. Here are my thoughts on the subject matter.

With all scripture, he twists the context to suit his narrative. He did it with Eve in the garden when he convinced her that she would not die (he alluded to a physical death/left out that spiritual death part). He twisted David’s accomplishments to serve the kingdom in Saul’s mind that David was after his throne (he did not allow Saul to see that David was continuously glorifying him and not himself). He even twisted the truth to Jesus himself each time he tempted Him. ‘’

Let me ask you this…if a man, dressed in nasty, dirty and smelly clothes came up to you on the street and told you that you had that there was more than one way into heaven, that God will love you no matter what you do, and you can do whatever you want and still get in…would you listen to him and party like it was 1999? Or would you see him from afar and decide that he must be no good because he has chosen to not take proper care of himself? Maybe he looks ominous, and he brings fear to your soul, so you avoid him for your safety.

Ok, now let me ask you this…if a well-dressed and clean-shaven gentleman with proper etiquette and language were to present to you a similar scenario…and you know him to be a church goer every Sunday … would you listen to him? He must know right? He goes to church and who better to know the truth than someone who goes to church.

I think the idea of displaying evil as dark and scary was the idea of the first example…to see it and avoid it for our safety. However, evil does not generally show up so easily to spot. Lucifer is not going to wear a billboard and a flashing hat that says, “Hey I am here to steal your soul from heaven, listen to me.” No. He is going to slide in in your weakest moments of protection and feed you a line that ‘feels’ like it is the right thing.

He is going to feed you lines like: If God really loved you, why are you so sick all the time? I thought He was the Great Physician, doesn’t look like he cares for you at all.

They told you to pray for financial help and he ignored you. He could help and wipe all this away, but he doesn’t care about you.

Go to church…why would you want to get up early EVERY Sunday just to sit in a building, listening to a boring speech, and be next to all those hypocrites. You see how the Jones’ act outside in the real world. You want to be like them?

God killed your child. How can you love a God who kills children.

This is how Lucifer will come for you. At your feelings. At your lowest. At your core. And he will make solid arguments. But here are my counters.

Just as Job was a righteous man and God allowed Satan to rip his life apart, Job set the example of NOT cursing God. He complained and he challenged and cried…but he did not curse God. Because of his obedience…he was restored even better than before.

So perhaps you are sick because He wants to use your resilience to be the showstopper for someone else. Your strength in your illness will give hope to someone else.

Perhaps, your financial struggles are because of some poor money choices and there are subtle corrections He is leading you to that will help you not fall into those same financial traps. Your obedience will show others that financial security is possible when you obey God’s rules.

Yes, churches are full of hypocrites. However, their hypocrisy is their issue. I continue to go for my soul’s health. I lead my life outside the church, hopefully, in a non-hypocrisy manner. That way they can see what true obedience is. They must answer for their actions. I must answer for myself.

Why does God kill children? He killed his own son so that we could live…rather, he allowed his own son to be killed to save us. Why are our children more important than His?

Did I want my daughter to die? NOPE. Would I have chosen that path? NOPE. But…with me walking that path, I am able to relate to those who have as well and offer hope.

Jesus told us from the beginning that because His way is not the way of the norm of society, we would struggle because he suffered. Lucifer knows that suffering is not what anyone wants, so he uses that in well-dressed camouflage and logic to pierce our hearts and minds.
