Jesus is coming. We are in the last days and our mission is to get the youth on fire for the Lord. The youth of today are too distracted and led away. They have been sorting of forgotten by their local churches in South Africa who honestly have not had resources. But we know how to do this from scratch.
I have personally setup and worked in various youth groups in various denominations. We started all of them with nothing. One even started under a tree.
While the term "youth ministry" is a modern construct, Jesus' teachings and actions have significant implications for working with young people. His emphasis on discipleship, love, and the importance of children provides a framework for youth ministry. Key areas where Jesus addresses youth ministry include the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), the principle of loving God and neighbor (Matthew 22:37-38), and his interactions with children (Matthew 18:2-4).
1 Timothy 5:1-2 encourages leaders to treat younger men as brothers and younger women as sisters, reflecting a spirit of care and support for young people within the church.
So Coffee on the Rock is designed to set up youth groups, activities both at venues and online. We also do a lot of workshops and gatherings to help support single parents. We used to be able to give food parcels and clothing to single parents but donations in South Africa have become non-existant.
We have a husband and wife missionary team in the field at the moment with their 2 toddlers. They honestly rely on whatever donations we can send them as for accommodation and for food. The town they are in right now is so dry. The fire is not there and they have been scorned by so many in the town. We leave it on the Lord's hands he will show if we need to leave that place, shake the dust off of the feet and move on.
So here we ask for a few things:
Prayer:
For our mission to help bring youth to the Lord and build good solid youth groups.
For our missionary team who right now really needs funding.
For the next town the Lord has us to go to. We have taken up the same guidance as Jesus said to his disciples go from place to place.
If anyone needs the help of our missionary team please contact us. We will come.
