The Right People Matter
"Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm."
- Proverbs 13:20
You were never meant to do life alone. Even when God called Abram to leave his homeland and step into the unknown, Abram didn’t make the journey by himself. He took Sarai, his nephew Lot, and the helpers he obtained in Haran. While the vision was given to Abram, others came along because they believed in what God was doing in him.
Who you surround yourself with matters. Trying to carry people who don’t share your vision, your passion, or your faith will only weigh you down. It’s like trying to climb a mountain while dragging people who refuse to move.
Sometimes, the reason you feel stuck isn’t because of a lack of faith or effort. It’s because you’ve surrounded yourself with people who aren’t going where you’re going. People who don’t understand your calling. People who aren’t willing to walk by faith when the road gets tough.
But when you have the right people in your corner; people who encourage you, push you, pray for you, and believe in what God is doing in your life, it makes all the difference. God often uses relationships to strengthen your journey.
Who’s in your circle? Who are you allowing to influence your thoughts, your decisions, and your faith? It’s important to surround yourself with people who challenge you to grow, who speak life into your dreams, and who are willing to walk with you even when the journey gets difficult.
If you feel like you’re not making progress, maybe it’s time to evaluate who you’ve been keeping around. Maybe God is calling you to surround yourself with people who will build you up instead of drag you down.
You don’t have to walk alone. When God gives you a vision, He will also provide the right people to walk with you. But it’s your job to make sure you’re choosing the right company. Because the right people won’t just walk with you, they’ll help you get to where God is calling you to be.
