- I have a genuine question for Christians…
Have you ever been in a church service where everyone suddenly started speaking in tongues—and you felt a bit confused, not rebellious, just confused?
I’ve been thinking about this lately while reading 1 Corinthians 14.
Paul clearly valued tongues, but he also emphasized understanding and edification.
He said tongues edify the speaker, but prophecy edifies the church.
He also said that if tongues are spoken publicly, there should be interpretation—otherwise, it should remain between the believer and God.
So here’s what I’m honestly wondering:
Do you think speaking in tongues in church should always come with interpretation?
How do we balance spiritual passion with clarity and order?
No arguments. No judging.
I really want to learn from different perspectives.
